How to Donate
The YWCA Orange County is supported through grants, fundraising and donations. Your support makes the difference, directly empowering women and families throughout Orange County.
The Heart That Gives, Gathers
Your time and contributions have captured the real "Spirit of the Season." We value your giving spirit and support! As a small non-profit we touched the lives of thousands and it's only because of your generous donations and support shared by community, family, and corporate foundations.
YWCA of Orange County together with your generosity have accomplished the following in the last 10 years that we are proud of:
HEALTH: Neighborhood Link to Breast Cancer Screening
Our Neighborhood Link program led over 30,000 medically underserved women in 120 neighborhoods to Breast Cancer screenings and early breast cancer education throughout Orange County. Through this program women who would have gone undiagnosed or diagnosed at a later, more life-threatening stage learned they were cancer free or navigated to further diagnostic exams or treatment.
ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT: Youth Employment Services
Our Youth Employment Services program provided 6,000 at-risk youth with employment assistance including resume-building, interview skills, online and in-person job seeking navigational skills, and career training opportunities which resulted in job placement and enrollment in career training programs, or post secondary education.
DIGNITY & SELF CONFIDENCE: Prom Project, Marine Dress Drive, & Quinceañera
YWCA gave dignity and self-confidence to over 3,000 girls and women. The Prom Project’s Boutique Days provided low-income high school girls new and gently donated gowns, shoes, accessories, makeovers and etiquette tips enabling them to participate in Prom, the community Quinceañera/Sweet 16 celebration at the Muckenthaler Center or Marine Ball feeling and looking like the belle of the ball. These milestone experiences are memories that will last them a lifetime.
EDUCATION: College Scholarships
Adult reentry women and men received 100+ college scholarships sponsored by community donors. Many of our scholarship recipients are single parents/head of households who delayed or interrupted their studies to support their family. These scholarships led them to achieve their academic goals and financial stability for their families.
STEM GIRL CODE/MAKERSPACE: Investment in Our Future
Over 150+ middle school girls from low-income neighborhoods have been learning computer coding, increasing their knowledge about STEM fields, and how technology is used in various careers. In addition, these students are engaged in hands-on classroom and after school STEM projects.
Our one request from you is your continued commitment to help us fund programs that fulfill the vision of the YWCA. As 2021 comes to an end, now is the time to make your tax-deductible donation to the YWCA which will go towards empowering women across all of Orange County.
On behalf of all of us at the YWCA of Orange County, we wish you peace, happiness, and blessings this holiday season.
