YWCA-OC teamed up with Google and Los Alisos Middle School to create "Girl Code," an innovative program that teaches young girls about coding and computer programming by engaging them in interesting science activities both during class time and after school. The students use a coding curriculum to develop a basic working knowledge and gain basic skills in a variety of STEM fields that will motivate them to pursue careers in the technology fields.
Brian Jones, Los Alisos Middle School Teacher, advises a group of students to teach them more about STEM and Coding. He recently gave a coding assignment where the students created an animation video that focuses on human impacts on the Earth. This week we are featuring the work of Liann. In honor of Women's History Month, this week we are highlighting Empowered Women who paved the way for present and future women trailblazers. Read HISTORY's article to learn the amazing stories of 11 Empowered Women who changed the world.
