Shirley Bloom established Late Bloomers Scholarship to help post-graduate women with financial needs to attain advanced degrees at California State University Fullerton.
MULTIPLE AWARDS FOR 2026/2027

REQUIREMENTS FOR $2,500
A minimum of 9 units of graduate level completed courses at CSUF with a 3.0 GPA or higher for EACH semester for Fall 2025/Spring 2026 and Fall 2026/Spring 2027 (See exceptions under Scholarship Criteria) |

A minimum of 6 units of graduate level completed courses at CSUF with a 3.0 GPA or higher for EACH semester for Fall 2025/Spring 2026 and Fall 2026/Spring 2027 (See exceptions under Scholarship Criteria) |
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Because this is not a California State University Fullerton scholarship,
money awarded is NOT reported to the Financial Aid Office at CSUF.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION CRITERIA
- Women who completed a minimum of 12 units at CSUF in Fall 2025, are enrolled in a minimum of 12 units at CSUF in Spring 2026, and will graduate from CSUF before June 2026 (Full-time scholarship)
- Women who have completed a minimum of 9 units of CSUF graduate courses in Fall 2025 and who are enrolled in a minimum of 9 units of CSUF graduate courses in Spring 2026 (Full-time scholarship)
- Women who have completed a minimum of 6 units of CSUF graduate courses in Fall 2025 and who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 units of CSUF graduate courses in Spring 2026 (Part-time scholarship)
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 for both Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters
- Demonstration of financial need
- Submission of unofficial transcripts for verification of grades and required number of units
- One current letter of recommendation from an academic counselor, professor, or employer
- Active Gmail account address
- Participation in various ways that the YWCA OC honors scholarship awardees
- Enrollment in graduate level courses during Fall 2026/Spring 2027 when receiving scholarship funds.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
NOTIFICATION OF SELECTED STUDENTS: Approximately mid-May 2026
DISBURSEMENTS: (2 payments): Half for Fall 2026 semester and half for the Spring 2027 semester
NOTE: Students must maintain the same number of units or more for all four semesters (Fall 2025 / Spring 2026 & Fall 2026 / Spring 2027) or risk having the scholarship money reduced or eliminated.

- Participate in various ways that the YWCA OC honors scholarship awardees
SPRING DISBURSEMENT IN FEBRUARY 2027:
Students must:
- Provide unofficial transcripts as proof of successful completion of Fall 2026 Cal State Fullerton graduate courses, required number of units and grades
- Submit proof of enrollment in Cal State Fullerton graduate courses and in required number of units for Spring 2027
