Shirley Bloom established Late Bloomers Scholarship to help post-graduate women with financial needs to attain advanced degrees at California State University Fullerton.

REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 9 units of graduate level completed courses at CSUF with a 3.0 GPA or higher for EACH semester for
Fall 2024/Spring 2025 and Fall 2025/Spring 2026

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Because this is not a California State University Fullerton scholarship,
money awarded is NOT reported to the Financial Aid Office at CSUF.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION CRITERIA
- Women who completed a minimum of 12 units at CSUF in Fall 2024, are enrolled in a minimum of 12 units at CSUF in Spring 2025, and will graduate from CSUF before June 2025
- Women who have completed a minimum of 9 units of CSUF graduate courses in Fall 2024 and who are enrolled in a minimum of 9 units of CSUF graduate courses in Spring 2025
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 for both Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters
- Demonstration of financial need
- Submission of unofficial transcripts for verification of grades and required number of units
- One current letter of recommendation from an academic counselor, professor, or employer
- Active Gmail account address
- Participation in various ways that the YWCA OC honors scholarship awardees
- Enrollment in graduate level courses during Fall 2025/Spring 2026 when receiving scholarship funds.

NOTIFICATION OF SELECTED STUDENTS: Approximately mid-May 2025
DISBURSEMENTS: (2 payments): Half for Fall 2025 semester and half for the Spring 2026 semester
NOTE: Students must maintain the same number of units or more for all four semesters (Fall 2024 / Spring 2025 & Fall 2025 / Spring 2026) or risk having the scholarship money reduced or eliminated.

Students must:
- Provide unofficial transcripts as proof of successful completion of Fall 2025 Cal State Fullerton graduate courses, required number of units and grades
- Submit proof of enrollment in Cal State Fullerton graduate courses and in required number of units for Spring 2026
